Turmeric has been revered throughout the ages as an incredibly beneficial spice and there is a wealth of research that points to the incredidble anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits of consuming Turmeric. Turmeric is a source of polyphenol curcumin which has been shown to be key in fighting oxidative stress in the body, which is a major cause of inflammatory conditions. Ingesting curcumin on its own will not guarantee you these health benefits due to its poor bioavailability. However, when combined with black pepper its bioavailability increases by 2000%!
Ayurveda is an Ancient Science that has understood this wisdom for thousands of years. According to Ayurveda, Turmeric is indeed best consumed with black pepper and something unctuous to help alleviate any excess heat or dryness that Turmeric alone might create in the body. This is why we have not only blended our double strength Turmeric ( this means double strength curcumin!) with black pepper - but we have infused it into a base of coconut milk powder to create a creamy, luxurious drink that not only tastes incredible but gives you a hit of all the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits you could wish for.
This blend has been balanced to suit all doshas, but will be particularly beneficial to Vata and Kapha types.

Both Roses and Shatavari are revered in Ayurveda for their calming, soothing nature and properties. Roses have been used in traditional herbal medicine practice to help with emotional upset and heartbreak for centuries. We all feel anger, stress, overwhelm and irritation sometimes. These emotions can often feel particularly heightened due to hormonal fluctuations and PMS. According to Ayurveda, these emotions are governed by the Pitta dosha, represented by the elements of fire and water in our bodies. Cooling and calming, rose is considered an essential flower for cooling heat in the body. We love to take a moment to breathe in its beautiful scent before take a sip of this blend. We have combined this heart nurturing flower with another Ayurvedic favourite: Shatavari. Shatavari is nicknamed ‘the root of 100 husbands”! Thanks to its connection to feminine energies in the body. Shatavari has been used for centuries as a strengthening and rejuvenating tonic to the body. Studies have pointed to its beneficial effects n the impact of stress and hormonal disorders in women
This blend has been formulated to suit all doshas, but is particularly beneficial to those feeling an excess of the pitta dosha.

The hero ingredient in this blend has to be the wondrous adaptogenic herb - Ashwagandha. This herb has therapeutic benefits to help the body deal with physical and mental stressors. Studies show Ashwagandha has powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-stress and antioxidant effects. Published research shows Ashwagandha has a positive effect in reducing stress and anxiety in adults by reducing cortisol levels.
According to Ayurveda it can be beneficial to consume Ashwagandha with a fat source, and this is why we have used coconut milk powder as the base for our Moon Milk blend.
Aromatic nutmeg is used in Ayurveda at bedtime as a gentle sedative to aid sleep. It has a warming quality which is excellent for Vata and Kapha doshas, and is balanced here for fiery Pitta dosha by including a little coconut nectar for sweetness, and cooling coconut milk powder.

Our Story
A business built with heart. Run by family and friends.
When our founder Claire started her Ayurvedic and Wellness platform, The Ayurveda Coach, in 2018, it was with a wish to be able to educate, inspire and help heal those who were looking for ways to treat a range of conditions as well as provide tools to support a healthy mind, body and soul through Ayurveda, Reiki and Sound Healing. Through working with patients 1:1, it became clear there was a huge struggle for people trying to give up or reduce their caffeine intake. Herbal teas didn’t make the cut- lacking the comfort that a frothy cup of coffee would offer. Alternatives such as chai, turmeric and matcha lattes were out there, but so often laden with sugar and synthetic flavourings and offering very little health benefits.
And so, the seed was sown to research and create a range of drinks that could be enjoyed by everyone; that would have comfort and ritual, that would nourish and nurture from within, that would combine ancient Ayurvedic knowledge of herbs, adaptogens, spices and their healing properties to create something that would not only taste good, but do you good.
Claire reached out to her friend and herbalist Syndi Duke, who had been supplying herbal supplements to The Ayurveda Coach for years. Syndi’s knowledge and passion for herbs combined with decades of experience in blending herbs and spices made it a perfect partnership. Claire’s vision was to create an initial range that would help to curate small moments of calm into everyone’s day, every day. Rituals to revitalise you in the morning, soothe you in the afternoon and calm you at night. Over the course of 18 months the core trio of Ayurvedic Turmeric Latte, Ayurvedic Rose Latte and Ayurvedic Moon Milk were carefully formulated and taste-tested until we were absolutely satisfied with their taste and their benefits. In Ayurveda, the energy of the herbs and the process in which they are blended is extremely important. To this end, each of our blends are carefully handcrafted with love and care by our Master Blender using the finest quality whole herbs and spices -all of which are freshly ground and infused into a base of coconut milk powder.
The final part of the puzzle was conveying the beauty and vitality of our drinks, while invoking a connection to the emotions of each drink and how we hope they will make you feel, both inside and out. Thankfully, our founder Claire is married to a very talented graphic designer, George, who was able to convert her vision for the brand into the bold, bright graphic designs you see here on our website and our pouches.
We thank you for supporting our small, artisan business and for sharing in our journey. We have poured all our love and hearts into crafting and creating something that we hope will inspire daily moments of self care and a deeper interest into the wonderful world of Ayurveda.
